a week later...

After my Dr. Appointment

Jake loving on Eli

Kennedy wanting braids all over her head!

My NEW dryer!

Above are picture we have taken this week. I thought they would upload at the end of my post, not the beginning...I feel like this past week has went by fast. I thought that I was going to come close to a mental break down with 4 kids 4 and under, but it hasn't been bad at all. (knock on wood) The girls and Jacob LOVE Eli and want to hold him all the time. Maddie and Kennedy go and check on Eli while he is sleep throughout the day to make sure that he is okay. Anytime they notice anything "different" like he is leaning to one side or if the blanket is close to his face or if he is crying they come running to tell me. They all like to put little trinkets in his bed such as: Jake puts his cars and little people animals, the girls put their blankies and their teddy bears. They are very concerned about Eli getting lonely or scared. Blackie, our dog too, get concerned by Eli's crying and goes to the bed and sits on the floor.

Eli has been a delight so far. I felt like Jacob was my easiest baby mainly I think because their was just one to care for. The only thing that I could possibly complain about Jacob was that he spit up like crazy, whole feedings and had acid-reflux. Eli hasn't spit up once, not even a drop! Eli sleeps somewhere between 3-5 hour periods. When Eli wakes up he doesn't cry. He lays in his bed and looks around. Eli is a wonderful baby.

At Eli's one week doctor's appointment he weighed 5lbs 10oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. He was a little jaundish but nothing of major concern.

I have been feeling good. I can tell the swelling has started to go down and I feel a little more brusied but nothing too terrible. My wonderful mom has been here helping me for the last week. She had to go home to work at the temple this weekend. She left on Wednesday evening and is headed back up for another week today. Lindsey is coming out on Thursday for a week too. I have also had some wonderful friends and ward members to come and sit with me while my mom was gone so Matthew could go into work. I feel so very blessed to have such an amazing family and friends.

Eli is such a beautiful baby! The picture of him and Jacob really helps put into perspective how small he really is. And I can completely sympathize with you on the spitting-up thing. It's awful! I'm so happy that you aren't having that issue with Eli. Maybe I'll be so lucky with the next one...

I love the picture of your kids in front of the new dryer! How cute! If I had a new dryer, I know I would sit in front of it and watch it for a while.

Oh Jenny, he's so adorable and so tiny! I'm glad he's a good baby! Maybe it's true what I've heard, having the 3rd baby is the hardest adjustment but every added baby after that is no big deal! I think you'll have to have a few more now just to test that theory, and then let me know if it's true or not! haha...
