I ran my first 5K on Saturday. I really enjoyed it! It was for LeBonuer Childrens Hospital "Pumpkin run". There were lots of fun things for kids to do and lots of food. Barney was there, lots of crafts, a band, inflatable jumping things, pizza hut, krispy kreme, ben and jerrys and so much more. For my first run it couldn't have been better. It was nice to have Matthew and the kids there. They were great cheerleaders and I loved seeing them smiling and waving at me. I had a great fan club!
This is our first family picture since Eli was born! Isn't that awful! Even at his blessing I forgot to get a family picture. I guess it is better late than never!
I RAN the whole race! I was pretty proud of myself since this course had was so hilly. I wasn't exactly prepared for so many hills. I finished in 35 minutes and 12 seconds. This race didn't have chips so I am not sure how accurate my time was. There were lots of strollers and walkers and people so it took me a few minutes to even get past the starting line and begin running. No matter the time I am proud that I finished and ran the whole time. I am defiantly ready for my next race. When people say it is addicting, it is so true!!
I look funny running! I have never seen myself in action before!
The girls enjoyed all the food, face painting, crafts and so much more!
Jake got to see Barney and got a wooden car (he LOVES cars). He was in heaven with all the sugar!

This was the after math. He had pizza, donuts, ben and jerrys, and goodness knows what else while I was running! The girls were too far in the back of the car for me to get a picture of them but the were equally as messy!
The girls had a party later that afternoon a few blocks away from where we live. The girls asked if they could run on the sidewalk and I ride in the car next to them. They looked adorable running home. They were in Halloween customs. I wish I had my camera to capture that moment! Maddie decided she had had enough but Kennedy ran all the way home and raised her hands in victory when she got to the driveway! "I beat you home, Mom!"
Later that night, Matthew wanted to go to Bass Pro Shop. I personally think he brought it up because he wanted to get his mind off the TN game because they were once again doing horrible. But either way, it was a fun trip for all of us. We enjoyed looking at boats and dreaming of one day having one. The girls enjoyed "riding the four-wheelers" and begging Matthew if they could get the one they picked out for our farm. (Matthew and the girls often look on the Internet for land, cattle, horses, tractors, etc. for our dream farm. They have their horses and possible plots of land picked out. They are funny. When ever they see something they like they will ask us, "Can we get this when we get our farm" or "to put on our farm.") We are a family of dreamers.
Maddie on her 4-wheeler. Evidently, this is a power ranger edition so I am told by the girls!
I do not know what time of recreation vehicle this was but Jake loved it. I am not sure if it was the "car" or the seat belt!
Matthew and the kids decided this boat would work best for our family! They sure had fun pretending to drive it . I think we probably drove the workers at Bass Pro Shop crazy!
Kennedy was VERY serious about her "soon to be purchase." She was so funny. They both were on these for about 15-20 minutes. We finished our night at Cracker Barrel, a FAVORITE of the girls. They sat us at this huge round table in the right up front. You would have thought we were the show of the night. Everyone that past had to stop and chat. This one guy a few tables away said:
Guy: "Are all these yours?"
Me: "Yes."
Guy: "Is he the father of them?"
Me: "Yes." (I wanted to say no, they all have different daddy's!)
Guy: "Does he help you with them?"
Me: "Yes."
Guy: "Well, guess he would have to with that many."
Then was smiled and started eating. I could go on and on with the comments we got. Matthew I think was a little taken back. Rarely, well actually NEVER do we got out to eat or out much with all of us together. He kept looking at me and I laughed and said, "welcome to my life, everyday!" The girls were so good and Jake was happy as long as he was drinking chocolate milk. He is a fen! Eli of course was sweet and happy like always. He is such a good baby.
I still can't get him to show his huge smiles to the camera! He is a sweetie!!
Eli Crockett!

Congrats on the 5K! That is so awesome! Sounds like you all had a really fun filled day! Glad you enjoyed yourself!
That's awesome Jenny!! Once again, I wish we lived closer, this time so that we could run a race together! I still never have...
Wohoo Jenny!!! You'll be running half marathons with us soon!! That time is great! Running is addicting- which can be good or bad. :)
I still think Jake looks so much like Brad.
People are so crazy to make comments like that. Just keep laughing about it. You should make up some crazy story and tell somebody one day. Just give it back to them! :)
I'm so glad you had a great time at your 5K. Didn't you say you're doing the St. Jude one too? If you are then hopefully I'll see you there. I need to get back into my running, lately I haven't cared!! Oh well.
The pictures of your kids are so cute. I'm glad they like to dream about their farm someday. That's cute! Abby told me the other day in our future house she wants stairs!! I think we can handle that one!
Wow, I'm so impressed! Good for you. It looked like ya'll had a great time. That seems like the most fun marathon I've ever heard about.
So I laughed when the guy asked if matthew was the daddy to all your kids and then your little comment to the side. You are in Memphis.
Congratulations on completing the 5K. I am running in my first one next month ... Race for the Cure. It is actually sponsored by a local BBQ chain and they are providing refreshments after the race, so I basically had no reason to NOT sign up. Raising money for cancer research + free BBQ... what more could you want?
