Will this EVER end!

My kids have been sick since October! I can not seem to get rid of whatever funk we have going around this house despite my efforts to disinfect and sanitize door knobs, light switches, bathrooms, etc.

Jake started this mess when he got the croup. I hate the croup. My kids always seem to get very bad cases of it and we end up in the ER. They always give them a steroid and a breathing treatment and send us on our way with a prescription. Last year when we ended up in the ER we followed up with their pediatrician, a couple days later and he gave us a steroid to keep on hand so we didn't have to go to the ER. (We have to pay ER visits out of pocket). Anyway, Kennedy followed with the croup about a week after Jake ended. She was waking up crying. I would go check on her and she would say she can't breath. Jake was just scared. He didn't know how to communicate how he was feeling. He would just cry and struggle breathing. It is always scary to watch croup. Anyone who has seen their little baby with croup knows exactly what I am talking about. The wheezing and labor breathing...Kennedy was out for a week recovering. Jake got an ear infection shortly after Kennedy got croup. Kennedy went to school for about 3 days and started complaining about her throat and ears. Took her in that Friday. She had strep and an ear infection.
Then on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, we headed down to my parents. (Matthew was dying for a break away from Memphis. Although, he worked at my parents the whole weekend! I guess it was just the actually leaving Memphis he wanted.) We got just past Jackson and Jake started throwing up. A three hour drive took us 5 hours! Jake was sick for 3 days. Kennedy got sick Friday night. Instead of coming home one Saturday like we had planned we stayed another night in hope to be able to make it home without vomiting in the car. Sunday, we gave the kids Dramamine and headed home. We were not home more than an hour and Maddie started throwing up. I kept the girls home Monday. Took all four kids to the doctor. Kennedy needed an ear re-check and the Jake and Maddie were throwing up and complaining their brain hurt. I wanted to make sure they didn't have strep too. Eli wasn't sleep through the night...not that that is anything new. He NEVER sleeps but he was screaming and was waking up 10 to 12 times a night. Kennedy's ear was questionable...Jake and Maddie just had/have viral infections...and Eli a bad ear infection. I started him on antibiotics on Monday and by Thursday he was screaming all day long. I finally called the doctor because I have had about 2 hours of sleep all week. Long and short the medicine was upsetting his tummy. The doctor told me to give Maalox 30 minutes before his antibiotic. I did last night and he sleep until 5am!!!! He has never sleep through the night in his 7 months of life!! It was great! I slept so soundly that I guess the girls came in several times saying they didn't feel well and Matthew was up with them all night with the girls throwing up and with diarrhea. Poor guy.
Today, Friday, the girls are laying in front of the TV and Kennedy is complaining about her ear hurting too...I guess we will be heading to the doctor's office once again!

It's everywhere and I feel like it gets on everything! Yuck! Well you know what they say, "This too will pass!" Good Luck!
