This is what Maddie had to say at dinner tonight. Below might have graphic content. View discretion is advised.
Maddie: "I have some hard questions. Some that you might not know the answers too."
Me: "Okay, like what?"
Maddie: "How to baby dogs get out of their moms tummy?"
Me: "Well, they come out of their bums." (We call your privates, front bum and back bum...I know, some day we will have a talk. Right now, I don't want my girls going around talking about boy and girls parts. I hate the names myself.)
Maddie: "Seriously? That is NASTY!! I am NEVER touching Blackie again! Did she come out of her moms bum?"
Me: "Yes, she did."
Maddie: "Gross, she has bum germs!"
Me: "Bum, germs?...."
Maddie: "YES!........How do the babies fit out of a such a little bum?"
Me: "Well, it gets bigger, just enough to let the baby out and then goes back to being small."
I have scarred them at this point. They are actually quiet for about 30 seconds, and their mouths are wide open.
Maddie: "It is just horrible that all animals are born out of their moms bums. It is a good thing that humans aren't. I would NOT want bum germs."
I just shook my head and smiled. Dinner conversation at our house is always crazy! :)

LOVE IT! Just wait until you have the REAL talk with them. It gets very interesting at that point. I got some strange looks from Drew when I was explaining to him about everything.

Hey so we just had this exact conversation with Carly last week. Too funny!! You handled it just the way we did.( not too much info but just enough to probably scar them) Where do these kids come up with these things?
