Camping Post 1

We have been wanting to take the kids camping for a while. So, last weekend we headed down to fall creek falls area and went camping. Matthew and I bought this tent before we left. We managed to get it up in about an hour with only a few poles left over. Matthew says they are just "extras"....hmmmm, I don't know about that. Maybe our next camping trip we can figure out exactly where they go and what they were for.

That night Matthew decided to tell "ghost" stories. It was so funny to see the kids faces with Matthew's face all lit up with a flashlight telling his stories. The kids all took turns telling their "ghost stories". They were much more humorous than scary. We had a wonderful time and laughed a lot! Eli thought the whole tent experience was hilarious. He would sit in his pack and play and just start laughing and then get really excited about whatever the kids were saying. The girls and Jake were trying to get Matthew and I to classify what exactly was an emergency. Flashlights were only to be turn on for emergencies. We had a lot of "what ifs" and "its an emergency, for real". It was a wonderful night, rain, wind, dogs barking, coyotes howling, shadows on the tent all included!

Here are LOTS of pictures from our adventure....

Maddie and Dadddy

Kennedy

The house in the background is Matthew's dads. They built it on a 5 acre piece of river front property they bought last year. It was nice to have a CLEAN bathroom yards from the tent!

Maddie's crystals she found on our hike. Each one had a special story and the possibility of being a REAL (and she wasn't joking, "for real, mom" I kept hearing) dinosaur fossil. Matthew was lucky enough to hear all about it. (Pictured Below)

Kennedy joining in on "story time" and adding her too sense!

Jake enjoying takin' a ride on Pa's tractor! The highlight of his trip!

Smores!!! My personal Favorite!

Wonderful Memories!!!

They are all so dang cute! Dinosaur fossils, really mom! That is too funny. I love to hear their commentary. I'm glad you explained the house in the bkgrnd. because I was very curious where you went. I think that is the best kind of camping to do with kids...indoor plumbing for mom.

They have tons of styles and colors prices are all about the same, except for the headbands they are $13 also, to get a bigger size hat is $28 I emailed the lady and that's what she told me, but she can make them in any color you want, just click on the conversation button, you might have to get a username and password.

It was cool, but still fun. We just bundled up and drank hot chocolate!

There was one picture of myself, Lu. Matthew took it while I was roasting my hotdog. Wow!
