Today Kennedy and Jacob had appointments with the ENT. Jacob had his post-opt visit and Kennedy Dr. Long keeps checking monthly. (Kennedy had another ear infection as of Thursday night. Matthew took her into the night clinic after he got home from work.) So, when he looked in her ears I was not surprised she still had one. He said that her right ear had a blood clot in it and he suspected lots of puss underneath the clot. He then looked at her left ear and said it too was infected and he suspected the same thing was going on in the middle ear. Dr. Long asked Kennedy if he could take her back and look at her ears under the microscope (she knows what all this in tells she has had him looking at her ear through it numerous times and it usually follows with some type of painful procedure.) and clean out all the junk in her ears so they would be able to heal and stop popping. She told him he could. I only think because they hurt her so badly because she was turning my hand white as we walked down the hall. I laid her on the table and she closed her eyes really tight and hugged me. I told her everything that he was doing until he started digging around and pulled out the clot and then a huge thick string of puss. She was screaming. He told me that was right in her ear drum and that really hurt her. He was amazed that she lay perfectly still the whole time. She never moved her head, her hands, nothing. The nurses kept trying to tell her how amazing she was by being so still but she never heard them, she was crying and screaming. Poor thing. I was getting teary eyed. It was awful. She let him look in the other ear no problem and was just as amazing as before. He said he could not have asked for a better patient.
Jacob’s ears looked good. They had fluid in them which is just basically allergies, but it is draining so that it good. No infection! Dr. Long said that probably is what is bothering him. He describes it to feel like pressure in the ears and it can be painful. We put him and the girls back on their pharmacy of allergy medications. Can children possibly be on more than flonase, singular and zyrtec all three, at the same time! I had Matthew pick up the prescriptions for me on the way home from work last week and he came home and said do you know how much this was? I told him yes. He said, “well I guess I won’t be getting me my play station game anymore!...285.00, that is ridiculous and that was only a partial payment on Madison because they ran out of zyrtec!” It was funny. I wish you could have heard him.

Holy cow - kids are expensive! Tell Matthew it is too bad that we don't live close or he could come over and play Playstation with Bryan!
He would LOVE THAT!! I do not think that they girls are that much of a challenge for him, but then again I could be wrong. :)
