Eli had his two month old check up last week. He weighed in at 9 lbs 9 0z and 22 inches long. I talked to the doctor about his constant crying and stiffness. He talked to me about acid reflux again. Matthew told me that he thought that he had it but I just brushed it aside because he wasn't throwing up like the girls or Jacob had. Eli had a lot of the other symptoms they did for acid reflux but not the throwing up in mass amounts. He told me that Eli could be a "silent" refluxer. Meaning that it would come up but he would just swallow it. He went ahead a started him on prevacid. (Jake started on Zantac but it didn't work so the doctor just went ahead and put Eli on the stronger medicine. Which I am grateful because the Zantac is three times a day and the Prevacid is once a day.)
Eli looked great! He got 5 shots and an oral vac. I had forgot how bad I hate shots for infants. Jake hasn't had them since his 18 month check up so I guess I forgot. I started tearing up. Poor little guy.
Side note, Maddie had been complaining about her throat so I told her she could tell doctor Owen at Eli's appointment because I didn't think that it was anything. Come to find out her throat was really red and had a cobble stone pattern on it. He was going to do another Strep test but then remember her bad allergies and said that it was not uncommon for someone with bad allergies to have a "cobble stone" throat. I guess it will come and go. I felt awful because the night before she was crying about it and I just thought that she was trying to get out of bed, yet again! I just gave her some water and told her to go to bed. I guess it wasn't one of my finer parenting moments.
