| So, who gets scarlet fever anymore? Well, of course one of my little ones will. Maddie had been complaining about her throat for a few weeks. I just chalked it up to allergies and told her I was sorry and gave hugges and kisses. On Friday she started running a high fever and it didn't really ever go away even with giving her mortin. She started breaking out with a rash on her neck and face Saturday night but once again I just assumed it was allergies. Some times fresh cut grass gives them a rash and Josh had just cut the grass the day before. Anyway, we left Mom and dads on Sunday and headed home to take her to see the doctor. Ends up she has strep and scarlet fever. Crazy! Doctor told us it was VERY contagious so I am VERY sorry to all those we came in contact with this weekend! Us Moffitt's do not know how to go somewhere with out getting sick! Kids under 2 don't usually get it and everyone else watch for a rash, fever or sore throat! Good news is an antibiotic can clear this up pretty fast these days and makes it not life threatening like it was in the olden days! After almost 48 hours on and antibiotics Maddie is not laying around the house any more and is on her way to arguing with her siblings and correcting me... |

omigosh seriously! I didn't know you could still get that! Well tell Maddie good job for setting us all straight! :) Hope she is better really fast!
You have got to be kidding! I'm so sorry! So do you just start your other kids on the medicine too?
Oh Jenny, that's horrible! I hope she feels all the way better soon!!!
The doctor didn't put the other kids on anything. I am just suppose to watch for rash, fever, upset stomach, sore throat, "strawberry tough", etc. Maddie laid around and stay on the couch or in bed for four days. She really wasn't around the other kids. So, I am hoping that was enough to keep everyone else okay. She is back in school now and is doing well. She still has a little bit of a sore throat and a little bit of a rash and seems to be tired, but I am sure everything will be gone in the next week or so. The doctor said the rash can stay for a while and then might peel.
MY brother hasn't been feeling well and has a sore throat. I have had a sore throat for the last two days but I think it is just allergies. I am going to wait it out until Monday before I run to the doctor.
Arguing and correcting...I guess if that's a normal thing at your house then I shouldn't be too concerned about Aden starting to do it. Another perk of motherhood.
Hey! Sorry I just now got your comment! I can make the bows for you! I will be in cookeville, friday and sat. but i'll be back that sat evening, so I can drop them off at your parents house if you like. I will call you!
